Description

The Clayton is a double wall light with two capsule-shaped glass heads, one facing up and one facing down, each held in a brass cage and joined by a short brass arm to a round wall plate. It is made from brass and glass, and we offer it in five finishes, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Natural Brass, Polished Brass and Satin Brass, each with a choice of Clear, Crackled or Frosted glass. It stands 14cm out from the wall, so it sits neatly beside a mirror or a bed without crowding the space.

With a bulb in each head, it washes light both up and down the wall. Its IP54 rating means it suits a bathroom, and it is just as much at home in a bedroom, dining room or living room. A pair either side of a bathroom mirror gives balanced light for the face, a pair beside the bed frames the headboard, and one on its own brings a soft glow to a dining room wall. The glass changes the mood: Clear leaves the bulb on view, Frosted gives a softer, more even light, and Crackled adds a fine, broken texture that catches the eye.

Bulbs are sold separately: the Clayton takes two E27 bulbs, up to 40W per bulb, so you can pick the bulb that suits the room. Each light is made to order for you in Ireland from brass and glass, and the maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered. It is a mains fitting, wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician, so it is worth settling on its position, and whether you want one or a pair, before the electrician arrives.
