Description
The Clarixa is a 60cm aluminium LED bollard light finished in matt black with an integrated warm white 3000K LED module. The rectangular head section angles forward from the upright post, casting downward light onto pathways, driveways and garden borders without directly exposing the light source to eye level. The aluminium body is powder-coated in black to resist corrosion and UV degradation in outdoor conditions.
Designed for front paths, driveway edges, patio perimeters and garden walkways, the Clarixa provides functional path lighting rather than decorative accent. The 60cm height positions the light output below typical knee height, reducing glare for anyone walking past while still illuminating the ground surface adequately for safe footing after dark. The IP54 rating provides protection against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction, making the bollard suitable for year-round outdoor installation in the UK climate including exposed positions.
The 95mm length and 150mm projection give the bollard a slim profile that works in narrow side passages or along the edge of driveways where wider fittings would intrude. The matt black finish absorbs light during the day, reducing visual prominence in planting beds or against dark paving, and pairs neutrally with both traditional and contemporary garden schemes. The integrated LED eliminates the need for bulb replacement and draws significantly less power than halogen equivalents.
Ideal Lux manufactures the Clarixa range in Italy and backs the fitting with a five-year warranty covering the LED driver, housing and weatherproofing. Installation requires mains 230V wiring to the base, typically run underground in conduit or armoured cable to the bollard position, and the fitting is secured to a concrete or paving base via the mounting plate at the foot of the post.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP54 rating mean?
IP54 means the bollard is protected against dust ingress (the '5') and against water splashing from any direction (the '4'). This makes it suitable for most outdoor UK conditions including rain, but it is not designed for submersion or high-pressure water jets.
How is the bollard installed?
The Clarixa requires mains 230V wiring run to the base, typically through underground conduit or armoured cable. The mounting plate at the foot of the post is fixed to a concrete base, paving slab or similar solid surface. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
Can the LED be replaced?
The LED module is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for tens of thousands of hours of operation and is covered under the five-year manufacturer warranty. If the LED fails within the warranty period, contact Ideal Lux or Niori for a replacement unit.
What spacing is recommended between bollards?
For pathway lighting, spacing of 3-5 metres between bollards typically provides continuous illumination without dark patches. The exact spacing depends on path width, surrounding reflectivity, and whether the bollards are the sole light source or supplementary to other garden lighting.
