The Clares is a linear pendant light in a bronze finish: a long ceiling canopy with a row of slim tubes hanging on fine cords at staggered heights. Some tubes are solid bronze, each with a small lens at its base, and the rest are ribbed glass held between bronze caps. The body is steel and glass. It measures 130cm long and 12cm wide, with an overall height of 300cm. The light source is integrated LED with an output of 4,300lm, so there are no bulbs to buy or change. It is rated IP20, which means it belongs indoors in a dry room.

Its 130cm length suits a long dining table, a kitchen island or a wide open-plan living area, spreading light along the whole table where a single pendant would leave the ends in shadow. The staggered drop gives the ceiling movement without clutter, and the earthy bronze sits comfortably beside oak, stone, linen and warm white walls. At 4,300lm there is plenty of light for a table that doubles as a desk, and because it is dimmable you can turn it right down for a relaxed supper.
