Description

The Citronic P44800 is a 2.1 power amplifier (amp) built to run a full sound system from a single unit. It gives you two channels for your mid-top cabinets rated at 400W each, plus a high power mono sub output rated at 800W. That sub feed is summed from both channels, so you get the low end handled without needing a separate amplifier for the subs.

The reason we like this one is the integral active crossover. It sits inside the amp with a variable crossover frequency from 50 to 250Hz at 12dB per octave, so you can split the signal between your tops and subs without adding an external crossover unit. The sub output can also be switched to full range if you want three matched channels rather than a bi-amplified setup. That makes it a practical, cost effective choice for smaller PA rigs and mobile setups where space and budget matter.

Connections cover 3 x female XLR, 3 x jack and 3 x Speakon-style SPK outputs, with front panel controls for each channel level plus the crossover frequency. Input impedance is 40k Ohms balanced and 20k Ohms unbalanced, with a damping factor above 250 and a frequency response of 10Hz to 50kHz. THD+N sits at 0.04% and the signal to noise ratio is 86dB. A fixed 30Hz low-cut filter keeps the sub channel clean at the bottom end. The unit runs on a 240Vac 50Hz IEC supply and takes up 2U of rack space at 483 x 439 x 88mm.

Frequently Asked

What does the 2.1 configuration mean?

It means two channels for your mid-top cabinets plus one dedicated sub channel. The sub output is a mono sum of both channels, so you can run tops and subs together from this one amplifier.

Does it have a built-in crossover?

Yes. There is an integral active crossover with a variable frequency from 50 to 250Hz at 12dB per octave, so you can split the signal between tops and subs without an external unit.

Can the sub output run full range instead?

Yes. The mono summed sub output can be switched to full range if you would rather use it as a third matched channel.

What connections does it use?

It has 3 x female XLR and 3 x jack inputs, plus 3 x SPK (Speakon-style) speaker outputs.

How much rack space does it take?

It is a 2U unit measuring 483 x 439 x 88mm, so it fits a standard 19-inch rack.

What power output does it deliver?

The two full range channels are rated at 400W each and the sub output is rated at 800W.
