Description

The Ciel is a 400mm cylindrical wall light cut from solid Spanish alabaster, with rounded domed ends and a matt black metal band wrapping the centre. An integrated 12W LED inside the stone casts warm 3000K light through both halves of the cylinder, turning the alabaster itself into the diffuser and revealing the natural mineral veining as it glows.

Designed as ambient or accent wall lighting, the Ciel suits hallways, stairwells, bedrooms either side of a bed, and living rooms flanking a fireplace or artwork. The 120mm width and 60mm projection keep the fitting close to the wall, so it works in narrower corridors and beside doorways without intruding on circulation. Hard-wired to a standard mains feed, it pairs naturally with a wall-switch or room dimmer circuit.

Each alabaster body shows different cloud patterns, soft grey veining and tonal variation depending on the section of stone it was cut from, so no two Ciel sconces light identically. The matt black centre band is the only visible metal element, giving the piece a clean two-material reading: warm translucent stone above and below, a single dark architectural line through the middle. The pill-like silhouette sits comfortably in contemporary, minimalist and Mediterranean-leaning interiors.

Installed singly the Ciel works as a focused wall accent; installed in pairs at matched heights it reads as a more architectural treatment, useful either side of a bed, mirror or chimney breast. The 2-year warranty covers the integrated LED driver and stone fitting against manufacturing defects.

Is the Ciel dimmable?

The integrated LED runs at 12W on 230V mains. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model, so please contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm the driver is suitable.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each cylinder is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the cloud patterns, grey veining and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect.

Can it be installed in a bathroom?

The Ciel does not carry a published IP rating in its specification, so it is intended for interior dry locations. We do not recommend installing it within a bathroom zone where it would be exposed to moisture or splashing.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
