Description

This porcelain table lamp brings a quiet piece of Christmas to the room. Its tapering white shade is pierced with tiny holes that draw a Christmas tree on its side. Dotted garlands swing across the branches, and little stars, bells and stockings hang along them. A star sits at the very top, and a band of dots and stars runs round the foot of the shade. Switched off, it is a clean matt white cone on a pale natural-toned base. Switched on, the light inside shines out through every cut-out, so the whole tree appears in points of light. It stands 17.5cm tall and measures 14cm across and 14cm deep, a neat size for a shelf, a mantelpiece or a windowsill.

It is an aroma lamp too: a shallow dish is set into the top of the shade, ready for the fragrance you like to warm through the festive weeks. We like it on a hall table to welcome guests in from the cold, on a sideboard among the Christmas cards, or on a bedside table for a soft light at the end of the day.
