Christmas Snowman Forest LED Round House Lantern 21cm - Blue

This round house lantern wraps a snowy winter forest scene around its walls and pointed roof, and lights it from within with an LED. On one side a cheerful snowman in a red scarf and top hat stands beside a pile of wrapped presents while young deer and a pair of robins wander through the snow; turn it round and Santa flies over the treetops in his red sleigh, pulled by a team of reindeer and watched by an owl and a badger. The roof is a tall cone of frosted fir trees in lavender blue and white, scattered with little snowflakes. Tiny stars and pinpricks in the design let the light through, so the whole forest twinkles once it is lit. It stands 21cm tall and 11cm across.

We think it belongs wherever the family gathers in December: on a mantelpiece among greenery, at the centre of a sideboard, on a hall table or on a bedside table for a little festive light at bedtime. Because it runs on batteries it needs no socket nearby, so you can move it from room to room as the evenings draw in. It is for dry rooms indoors, so keep it away from bathrooms, kitchens and outdoor spaces. As a Christmas gift it makes a thoughtful choice for anyone who loves a traditional snowy scene.

The lantern takes three AA batteries, which are not included, so have a set ready if you are giving it as a present. The scene is printed in fine detail, from the snow on every branch to the robins in the clearing, and a cream band around the base gives it a tidy finish. Dust it with a soft dry cloth and store it somewhere dry until next December. Set it beside the tree or among pine cuttings and baubles for a cosy Christmas corner.
