Description

The Chord RCT-4 is a compact clip tuner with a rechargeable battery, so there are no coin cells to replace. It clips to your headstock and gives you a clear reading through a colour changing backlit virtual needle display. The backlight glows orange while you tune, then switches to green once the note is in pitch, so you can see at a glance when you are there. At 54 x 39 x 30mm and just 22g, it stays out of the way while you play.

Operation runs from a single button that powers the tuner on and off and cycles through four modes: Chromatic, Guitar, Bass, and Ukulele. That covers most fretted instruments in one small unit. The tuner works across a range from A0 (27.5Hz) up to C8 (4.186kHz), with the A4 reference fixed at 440Hz. Accuracy is rated at ±1 cent, which is close enough for careful setup work as well as quick tuning before a set.

Power comes from an internal 90mAh Li-ion battery that gives around 270 minutes of use per charge. It charges over the supplied USB A to C lead, so you can top it up from a laptop, a phone charger, or a power bank. Keep it clipped to your case pocket and give it a short charge now and then, and it is ready whenever you pick up the guitar.
