Description
The Cherith is a flush ceiling light with a ribbed glass globe. A round ceiling plate and a gallery that grips the top of the globe hold it close to the ceiling. It is made from brass and glass, and it measures 29cm tall and 20cm across. That keeps a compact, low profile where a pendant would hang too far into the room. Fine vertical ribs run the full height of the clear glass and catch the light of the single bulb inside. Bulbs are sold separately: it takes one E27 bulb, at up to 6.5W per bulb (LED).
Because it is rated IP44, the Cherith suits a bathroom as readily as a hallway, and its short drop makes it a good choice where the ceiling is low. It comes in seven finishes: Polished Brass, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Natural Brass, Matt Black, White and Satin Brass. The Matt Black is RAL 9005 and the White is RAL 9010, which helps if you are matching paintwork or other fittings in the room. The brass finishes bring warmth to a period hallway or a traditional bathroom, while Matt Black and White sit quietly against plain walls and tiles.
Every Cherith is made to order for you in Ireland, in brass and glass, with the finish you choose. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered by that guarantee. When you buy a bulb, keep to an E27 LED within the 6.5W limit. The Cherith is wired in to the mains, so it is a fitting for a qualified electrician to install. Our photographs show the Polished Brass finish.
