Chelsie 28cm Beaded Glass Pendant Light - Polished Chrome

The Chelsie is a 280mm beaded glass pendant light with a polished chrome wire grid forming a rounded cage around clear glass beads. The wire frame creates a geometric lattice structure that holds individual glass beads in place, allowing light from a single central E14 bulb (sold separately) to pass through the beaded cage and cast fragmented reflections onto surrounding surfaces.

Designed for kitchens, dining rooms, hallways and bedrooms, the Chelsie works above a small dining table in a compact dining area, in a hallway where a decorative pendant adds visual interest without dominating the space, or as one of a pair flanking a bed or kitchen island. The 1500mm maximum drop is adjustable on installation to suit ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards, with a 315mm minimum drop for lower ceilings. The polished chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses.

The glass beads are threaded onto fine wires inside the chrome grid, creating a layered effect when lit. Unlike solid glass shades, the beaded construction allows more ambient light to escape while still diffusing the direct glare from the bulb. The polished chrome finish reflects surrounding light and pairs with both contemporary interiors and traditional schemes where metallic accents are needed. At 1.3kg the pendant has enough weight to hang straight on a braided cable without requiring additional fixings.

What bulb does the Chelsie take?

The pendant takes a single E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most buyers pair this with a 4-6W LED candle bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) to match the decorative beaded glass style.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit a dimmable E14 bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch. The pendant itself has no electronic components that would prevent dimming.

What ceiling height is needed?

The drop is adjustable between 315mm and 1500mm. For a dining table or kitchen island, the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The 315mm minimum drop suits lower ceilings where the pendant needs to sit closer to the ceiling rose.

Can the glass beads be cleaned?

Yes. Wipe the chrome frame and glass beads with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For more stubborn marks, a slightly damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the fixture and dry immediately to prevent water spots on the chrome.
