Chelsie 1 Light Beaded Glass Pendant Light 38cm - Polished Chrome

The Chelsie is a 38cm beaded glass pendant light built from strands of clear glass beads threaded on a polished chrome wire frame. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the rounded cage structure, casting light through the beads which refract and scatter it into softer ambient patterns across the surrounding space. The polished chrome canopy and suspension cable complete the fitting.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and hallways where a single central light source provides both task and ambient function, the Chelsie works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The 1500mm maximum drop is adjustable on installation, allowing the pendant to hang 700-900mm above a table or worktop depending on the ceiling height. The 38cm diameter suits tables of 1.2-1.6m length and kitchen islands up to 2m where a single pendant is preferred over multiple smaller fittings.

Each glass bead is cut with facets that catch and redirect light, so the pendant creates visual interest even when switched off under daylight. The polished chrome wire frame holds the beads in a symmetrical curved cage, giving the fitting a spherical silhouette from most angles. At 1.9kg the pendant has enough weight to hang stably on a standard UK ceiling rose without swaying excessively in air movement, but remains light enough for straightforward installation.

What bulb does it take?

The Chelsie takes a single E27 bulb up to 100W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 8-12W and 2700K-3000K for dining and kitchen settings.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself is dimmable when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Standard non-dimmable LED bulbs will not dim and may flicker if connected to a dimmer circuit.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 1500mm adjustable drop suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or above when hung 700-900mm above a table or worktop. The minimum 380mm drop allows the pendant to be shortened for lower ceilings, though it will sit closer to the surface below.

How is the beaded shade cleaned?

Switch off the power and allow the bulb to cool. Wipe the glass beads with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For deeper cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works, but avoid soaking the wire frame or allowing water into the lampholders.
