Description

The Chantelle is a 119x89cm rectangle wall mirror with a heavily carved wooden frame finished in silver. The frame features floral and foliate motifs at each corner and along the sides, with rope-twist beading and raised egg-and-dart moulding running along the inner and outer edges. The mirror glass sits behind a bevelled edge that catches light at different angles depending on viewing position.

Designed for hallways, living rooms and bedrooms with wall space of 120cm or wider, the Chantelle works as a full-length dressing mirror when mounted vertically or as an over-mantel or console mirror when mounted horizontally. The 8cm frame depth and 19kg weight require secure wall fixings into masonry or timber studs rather than plasterboard alone. The mirror is supplied with D-rings on the reverse for wall mounting — hanging hardware is not included.

The silver finish on the carved wooden frame has a metallic sheen that reflects ambient light without the high polish of chrome or the warmth of brass. The frame is constructed from multiple sections of carved wood joined at mitred corners, with the ornate corners and side motifs applied as separate carved sections. The bevelled glass reduces the visible edge of the mirror and softens reflections at the perimeter, drawing attention to the centre of the reflected image rather than the frame join.

What wall fixings are needed?

At 19kg, the Chantelle requires secure fixings into masonry or timber studs. Two heavy-duty wall anchors rated to at least 15kg each are recommended. Fixings into plasterboard alone will not support the mirror safely. The mirror has D-rings on the reverse but hanging hardware is not supplied.

Can it be hung horizontally or vertically?

Yes. The rectangular format works both ways — hung vertically it functions as a full-length dressing mirror, hung horizontally it works over a mantelpiece or console table. The D-rings on the reverse can be repositioned for either orientation.

Is the glass bevelled?

Yes. The mirror has a bevelled edge around the perimeter that catches light at different angles and softens the transition between the glass and the silver frame.

How is the silver frame cleaned?

Dust the carved details with a soft brush or dry microfibre cloth. For the mirror glass, use a standard glass cleaner sprayed onto a cloth rather than directly onto the glass to avoid drips running into the carved frame sections.
