Description

The Cembrano is a flush LED ceiling light built from two open square frames that overlap a central panel at opposite corners, so the shape reads as a run of squares stepping across the ceiling. The frames and panel are black, and the centre holds a row of pale natural slats against a dark textured backing, a warm contrast to the crisp black lines. White shades line the underside of the frames and the edge of the panel. It measures 65.5cm long, 30.5cm wide and 8cm high, so it sits close to the ceiling. The LED light source gives 1,350 lumens, and the IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms only.

Low and wide, it suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and studies, and the 8cm height makes it a sensible choice where the ceiling is on the low side and a hanging pendant would crowd the room. With 1,350 lumens it can serve as the main light in an everyday room, and the 65.5cm length covers a good stretch of ceiling over a sofa, a bed or a dining table. The black and natural pairing sits comfortably with oak floors, slatted wall panels, dark metal shelving and Scandinavian or Japandi schemes, giving a room a considered focal point.

Across the body we combine steel, wood and felt, and the shades are made from plastic. It runs on standard 220-240V mains and weighs 1.523KG packed, so it is easy to handle when it arrives. As a wired-in mains light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download for them to read beforehand. Before you order, measure your ceiling and allow for the full 65.5cm length and 30.5cm width, so the frames sit clear of walls and any nearby fittings.

Frequently Asked

Can the Cembrano go in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry indoor rooms only, so we would not place it in a bathroom, outdoors or anywhere near water.

How bright is the Cembrano?

It gives 1,350 lumens from its LED light source, a good amount for the main ceiling light in a living room, bedroom or dining room.

How large is this ceiling light?

It is 65.5cm long, 30.5cm wide and 8cm high, so it sits close to the ceiling and covers a generous area over a sofa or bed.

What materials are used in the Cembrano?

The body combines steel, wood and felt in black and natural tones, and the shades that line the frames are white plastic.

Does it suit a low ceiling?

Yes. At 8cm high it is a flush light that stays close to the ceiling, which makes it a sensible choice where a pendant would hang too low.
