Description
The Cembrano is a square LED flush ceiling light built from two offset frames in black, one left open and the other filled with natural wooden slats laid over a black felt backing. It measures 48.5cm long and 48.5cm wide, yet sits just 6.5cm deep against the ceiling, so it suits rooms where a pendant would hang too low. A white plastic diffuser lines the underside of each frame, and the LEDs give out 3,300lm, a generous output for the main light in a room. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms, away from bathrooms and other damp spaces.
We see it working best as the main light in a living room, dining room or bedroom, particularly where a low ceiling rules out anything that drops. The slatted wood picks up the look of wall panelling, oak floors and timber shelving, while the black frames give a crisp outline that sits comfortably beside dark metal furniture and picture frames. Because the two squares overlap off centre rather than stacking neatly, the fitting reads as a piece of design even with the LEDs unlit, which matters in rooms where you spend your evenings.
The body pairs steel with wood and felt, and the felt behind the slats gives a soft, textured depth that a plain metal panel lacks. Felt and wood both gather dust, so a soft, dry cloth or a soft brush now and then keeps the slats looking crisp. The packed weight is 2.083KG, and a second pair of hands helps while the fitting is held against the ceiling. As a mains light wired into the ceiling, we recommend it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download.

Frequently Asked
Can the Cembrano go in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which means it is meant for dry indoor rooms such as living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms, never bathrooms or outdoors.
How bright is this LED flush ceiling light?
The LEDs give out 3,300lm, a generous output that lets it work as the main light in a living room or bedroom.
How big is the light?
It is 48.5cm long and 48.5cm wide, and just 6.5cm deep, so it sits close to the ceiling and suits rooms with a low ceiling height.
What materials are the slats and frames?
The body combines steel, wood and felt: black frames, natural wooden slats and a black felt backing, with white plastic diffusers that soften the light.
How do I keep the wooden slats clean?
Wood and felt both gather dust, so a soft, dry cloth or a soft brush now and then keeps the slats and backing looking crisp.
