Description

A fitted sheet measuring 180 by 200cm with a 30cm depth, woven in Portugal from a blend of hemp and organic cotton. The colour is a plain undyed natural, a warm off white with no pattern, no border and no piping, and the fabric has the matte, softly crumpled surface that comes of a fine even weave in these two fibres. It arrives folded into a cotton bag closed with a single button at the flap.

The 30cm depth takes a standard mattress, or a shallower one with a topper laid over it. The fabric is breathable with a relaxed feel rather than a crisp one, and it softens with use. The plain natural tone sits under anything, which is what it is for: the Cela range carries striped duvet covers meant to go over it, and housewife pillowcases in the same blend.

The blend is hemp with organic cotton. Hemp is a durable fibre that needs very little water and no chemicals to grow, and the organic cotton it is paired with is grown without synthetic pesticides or GMOs. Each sheet comes folded in its cotton bag, which holds it together in a cupboard and will serve afterwards as a garment bag. The same sheet is made in two other sizes.
