Description

Woven braid in a soft ivory, laid up as a twist rather than run flat, this is flex for anyone who wants the cord to be part of the look. Three cores sit beneath the braid, so an earth is there where a metal fitting calls for one, and the conductors are sized at 0.75mm for everyday lighting loads. It is VDE approved. We sell it by the metre, and however many metres you order arrive as one continuous length rather than as cut pieces.

It suits pendant sets made up at home, rewired table and floor lamps, and any fitting where a plain white cord would look wrong against older joinery. Ivory is the one we reach for alongside cream, bone and antique brass, where black braid tends to read as too hard. This is a dry indoor flex, at home in kitchens, bedrooms and hallways rather than bathrooms or outbuildings. A long drop down a stairwell carries the twist well, and a short hop over a dining table needs very little of it.

The braid gives the cable a slight texture in the hand and holds its twist neatly, so it hangs in a gentle spiral instead of falling into flat kinks. Keep it dry, and take dust off with a dry cloth; solvents and damp rags will mark a pale weave, so leave them well away from it. It carries a one year warranty. Across the range we also stock braided flex in white, black, red, blue, purple and lime green, so a row of pendants can be matched exactly or mixed on purpose. Plugs, lampholders and ceiling roses are bought separately.
