Cavo Braided Twisted Copper Cable 2 Core 0.75mm - Jute Brown

A woven braid in warm jute brown covers this two core flex, twisted along its length so it falls in a gentle spiral rather than hanging dead straight. The 0.75mm conductors make it a general purpose lighting flex, VDE approved, and the braid gives it a dry, textile look that sits closer to rope or twine than to plastic. It is sold by the metre, and however many metres you order arrive as a single continuous run rather than separate cut pieces.

We reach for flex like this wherever the cable is part of what you see: a pendant dropped over a kitchen island, a cluster of bare bulbs above a dining table, a table lamp or a floor standing reading light. The brown reads as a soft, earthy neutral, so it settles happily against limewashed walls, stripped timber, brick and cane without pulling attention away from the shade. It is meant for dry rooms indoors, so we would not choose it for a bathroom or anywhere outside.

The braid is woven tightly over the twisted pair, which keeps the cable supple and gives it a little grip when it is coiled or looped. The twist is set into the cable itself, so it holds that shape instead of relaxing flat. To keep it looking fresh, run a dry cloth along the braid now and then to lift dust out of the texture, and keep sprays and solvents off it, since they tend to mark a woven covering. How do I keep the braid clean?

Wipe along the weave with a dry cloth to lift dust. Avoid household sprays, solvents and damp cloths, as moisture and chemicals can mark the braid.

Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?

No. It is rated for dry indoor use only.

Does the brown match any of the other braided colours?

It is its own shade, a soft earthy brown, and it is warmer than the black and white braids we also stock.
