Description

A grey braided flex with three cores, this is the sort of cable that does quiet work behind a good light and still looks right when it is on show. The woven outer sits over a round profile that coils and hangs neatly, and the conductors are rated at 0.75mm, which covers most domestic pendants and lamps. It is VDE approved. We sell it by the metre, and order what you need: it arrives as a single continuous run rather than cut pieces.

We reach for it on pendant drops where the cord is visible and a plain white sheath would look wrong, as grey sits happily against plaster, brass, painted timber and smoked glass alike. It also suits table and floor lamps, rise and fall fittings, and metal bodied lights that need an earth, so it is a useful spare to keep in the drawer if you like older lamps kept going. Makers and small shopfitters take it in longer runs for lamp builds and display work. Indoors and in dry rooms only.

The braid gives a textile look and a little more grip than a smooth sheath, and at 6mm across it passes through most cord grips and canopies without fuss. Dust settles into a woven cover more readily than onto plastic, so a soft brush or a dry cloth run along the length now and then keeps the grey looking clean, and it is worth keeping the flex clear of heat sources and sharp edges. It carries a one year warranty. The same braided covering runs through the range in black, white, red, blue, purple and lime green, so you can match a set of fittings or deliberately contrast them.
