Description
The Catenis Small is an 800mm tall wall light built around a cylindrical shade of natural Spanish alabaster, held within a slim brushed brass frame formed from three vertically stacked loops. Two G9 lamp sockets sit inside the alabaster cylinder, lighting the stone from within so the shade itself becomes the diffuser. The fitting measures 150mm wide and projects 80mm from the wall.
The vertical proportions suit hallways, stairwell walls, bedside positions and the flanks of fireplaces, where a tall, narrow fitting reads better than a wider plate-style wall light. At 800mm in height, two Catenis units pair symmetrically either side of a bed or doorway, and a single unit works well on a stair return or in a pier between windows. The G9 sockets accept standard capsule lamps (sold separately), allowing the colour temperature and output to be chosen to suit the room.
The alabaster cylinder is cut from natural Spanish stone, so each shade carries its own pattern of veining and cloudy mineral inclusions that become visible once lit. The brushed brass loops sit forward of the wall on a concealed back plate, with the upper loop forming a handle-like arch above the shade and two further loops descending below it as a tapered tail. The brushed finish softens reflections and pairs comfortably with both warm-toned schemes and cooler greys.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Catenis Small take?
The fitting takes two G9 capsule lamps, sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED G9 between 3W and 5W at 2700K-3000K to keep the alabaster glowing in a warm tone rather than a cool one.
Is the alabaster shade unique to each piece?
Yes. Each cylinder is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, mineral clouding and tonal variation differ between individual shades. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect, and only becomes fully visible once the lamps are switched on.
Can two Catenis Small wall lights be paired either side of a bed?
Yes. The 800mm height and 150mm width make the Catenis Small well suited to symmetrical pairing either side of a bed, doorway or fireplace. Mounting height is typically set so the centre of the alabaster shade sits roughly at eye level when seated, around 1.4-1.5m from the floor.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the shade with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners on the shade or the brushed brass frame.
