Description

The Knightsbridge CAT6 RJ45 inline coupler joins two CAT6 or CAT5e Ethernet cables end-to-end without requiring a wall plate or patch panel. The coupler accepts standard RJ45 plugs on both sides, maintaining the cable run when extending network drops or linking two shorter cables to reach across a room.

Designed for home, office and commercial installations where a network cable needs to be extended mid-run, the coupler fits into standard modular faceplate blanks or can be left free-standing behind furniture or in ceiling voids. The snap-fit design requires no tools — cables push into either side until the RJ45 plug clicks into place. The white ABS and polycarbonate housing carries an IP20 rating, making it suitable for dry indoor environments but not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use.

The 30mm length, 22mm height and 17mm width give the coupler a compact footprint that fits within standard electrical accessory boxes when paired with a modular blank plate. CAT6 compliance means the coupler supports Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T) and bandwidth up to 250MHz, maintaining full data throughput across the joint when both connected cables meet CAT6 specification.

Will this work with CAT5e cables?

Yes. The coupler is backwards-compatible with CAT5e and will maintain the data rate supported by the lower-spec cable. Using a CAT6 coupler with CAT5e cables does not upgrade the cable performance, but the connection will function correctly.

Does it fit in a standard wall plate or blank?

Yes. The 30mm × 22mm × 17mm dimensions allow the coupler to fit into modular blanks designed for Ethernet keystones or similar inserts, giving a flush wall-mount finish when needed.

What's the maximum data rate supported?

The coupler supports Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T) and bandwidth up to 250MHz, which is the CAT6 standard. Actual throughput depends on both connected cables meeting CAT6 specification and the total cable run length staying within Ethernet distance limits (typically 100m maximum).

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

No. The IP20 rating means the coupler is designed for dry indoor environments only. It is not weatherproof and should not be used in bathrooms, outdoor locations or areas where moisture ingress is possible.
