Description

The Caprice is a 200mm square wall light with a frosted glass panel etched with a geometric grid pattern, set in a silver metal frame. A single E14 bulb (sold separately) behind the frosted glass produces soft ambient light that diffuses evenly across the panel, highlighting the grid detail while casting a gentle wash onto the wall.

Designed for hallways, landings, bedrooms and living rooms where ambient rather than task lighting is needed, the Caprice sits 100mm proud of the wall and mounts directly onto a standard UK wall box. The 200mm-square footprint provides enough presence to anchor a wall space without dominating smaller hallways or narrow corridors. The frosted glass softens the light output, making the fitting comfortable to look at directly when positioned at head height.

The geometric grid etching on the glass is visible both when the light is on and off, adding a decorative layer to the otherwise minimal form. The silver frame is a polished chrome-tone finish that pairs with both warm and cool interiors. The 1.1kg weight and included mounting hardware support fixing to plasterboard with appropriate cavity fixings or direct to masonry using the supplied screws. The fitting is compatible with dimmable E14 LED bulbs when paired with a trailing-edge dimmer.

What bulb does it take?

The Caprice takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W warm-white LED candle bulb at 2700K-3000K for ambient hallway or bedroom lighting.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself is dimmable when fitted with a dimmable E14 LED bulb. You will also need a compatible trailing-edge dimmer switch — older rotary dimmers designed for halogen bulbs often cause flicker with LEDs.

Can it be fitted to plasterboard walls?

Yes. The 1.1kg weight is within the load capacity of standard plasterboard cavity fixings (metal toggle or spring toggle anchors). The fitting mounts onto a standard UK wall box, which should be secured to a wall stud or batten where possible.

How is the frosted glass cleaned?

Wipe the glass gently with a dry microfibre cloth when the bulb is cool and the power is off. For fingerprints or marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable. Avoid sprays or chemical cleaners that can leave residue on the etched grid pattern.
