Description

The Canalello is a slim pendant light in black steel: a narrow cone shade at the end of a long, thin stem, hanging from a round ceiling rose on a fine cord. The shade is 8.5cm across at its widest and the light measures 38cm tall overall, so it reads as a fine line in a room rather than a heavy block of metal. It takes one GU10 bulb, which is not included, so you choose the colour of light that suits the room. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in a dry room, and away from bathrooms and splashing water.

Because the cone opens downwards, the light falls in a focused pool beneath the shade rather than spreading across the ceiling. That makes it a good choice over a kitchen island, a dining table, a bedside or a reading corner, where you want the light on the surface itself. At 8.5cm across it fits where a wide shade would crowd the space, and several hung side by side over a long table make a neat, even line.
