Description

We stock the Cambio in black as a cork pendant with a sculptural spherical shade. Layered cork veneer segments are held together by a black aluminium frame with a matching black canopy and cable, so the shade reads as a natural brown ball against black hardware. It takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately), and when lit the light escapes through the gaps between the cork layers to throw soft striped shadows across the ceiling and walls.

We would hang this over a dining table, a kitchen island or a living room seating area where you want a natural material overhead. The cork suits mid-century, Scandinavian and contemporary rooms, and the layered surface changes appearance as you move around it. Cork is harvested from the bark of the cork oak without felling the tree, so it is a lower-impact choice than many synthetic shades, and it softens sound reflections a little in open-plan spaces.

The cable length is adjustable during installation, so you can set the drop to suit your ceiling height and the surface below. This is a non-dimmable fitting rated IP20 for standard indoor rooms, running on 220-240V AC mains at 60W maximum. The natural brown cork warms further under an incandescent or warm-white LED bulb, which brings out the texture of the veneer.

Frequently Asked

What bulb does it take and is one included?

It takes a single E27 screw-fit bulb up to 60W. The bulb is sold separately, so you can choose the colour temperature you prefer; a warm-white LED brings out the natural brown tone of the cork.

Is it dimmable?

No. This is a non-dimmable fitting, so it runs at full brightness. If you want to dim it, wire it to a room dimmer only with a compatible dimmable bulb (sold separately).

Can I adjust how far it hangs down?

Yes. The cable length is adjustable during installation, so you can set the drop to suit your ceiling height. Over a dining table we would typically leave 700 to 800mm of clearance above the surface.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which is for standard indoor rooms only. We would keep it to dining rooms, kitchens and living spaces away from splashes and moisture.
