Description

The Calla is a 520mm linear bar pendant with three E27 lamp holders suspended on individual grey fabric flex cables from a brushed chrome pressed steel bar. Each drop hangs on 1.8m of cable, allowing the lamp holders to be set at different heights to create a staggered arrangement or kept level for a uniform row. The lamp holders use a vintage-style metal housing that accepts standard E27 bulbs (sold separately).

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and worktop areas, the Calla provides three points of light across a 520mm span — enough to illuminate a 1.2-1.5m island without the bulk of a wider multi-point fitting. The linear bar mounts to a standard UK ceiling rose via a central fixing point, with the cable runs concealed inside the bar itself. The individually adjustable drops suit rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4-2.8m, where the pendants can be set 600-750mm above the worktop or table surface.

The brushed chrome finish on the pressed steel bar and lamp holders provides a softer metallic tone than polished chrome, reducing glare under daylight and pairing well with stainless steel appliances, glass splashbacks and light wood cabinetry. The grey fabric flex contrasts subtly with the chrome without introducing a stark colour break. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations only — not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use.

What bulbs does the Calla take?

Each of the three lamp holders accepts a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED filament bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for ambient or task lighting over kitchen islands.

Can the drops be set at different heights?

Yes. Each drop has 1.8m of cable, allowing the lamp holders to be positioned at staggered heights for a layered look or kept level for a uniform row. The heights are set during installation by adjusting the cable length at the ceiling fixing point.

Is the Calla dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulbs used. If you fit dimmable E27 LED or halogen bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch, the fitting will dim. The fitting itself has no built-in dimming mechanism.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 1.8m cable length allows the pendant to work in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4-2.8m. For kitchen islands or dining tables, the lamp holders typically sit 600-750mm above the surface, which requires a minimum ceiling height of around 2.4m.
