Calipso Cylinder Pendant Light - Brass

We stock the Calipso in brass as a slim fluted cylinder pendant for directional light over a work surface. Vertical ribbing runs the full length of the shade, and the brass-finished aluminium body keeps the pendant light without the weight or cost of solid brass. Inside, a single GU10 fitting takes one bulb up to 10W (sold separately) and sends the light down through the open base.

We hang it over kitchen islands, bar counters and dining tables where you want concentrated light for prep, dining or bar work rather than soft ambient light for the whole room. The narrow cylinder keeps the visual footprint compact, so you can run two or three in a row over a longer island or counter without the space feeling crowded. The fluted exterior catches the light along its ridges, adding texture when the pendant is seen from the side.

The GU10 fitting accepts a standard mains bulb, so you can pick the brightness and colour temperature that suit the room and swap it later. The pendant is not dimmable and runs on 220 to 240V mains at 50Hz. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor use, which means it is not suitable for bathrooms or covered outdoor areas where moisture is present.

Product datasheet

What bulb does it take?

It takes a single GU10 mains bulb up to 10W, which you buy separately. That lets you choose the brightness and colour temperature you want, and change it later if your needs change.

Is it dimmable?

The pendant itself is not dimmable. If you want to dim it, fit a dimmable GU10 bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch that suits that bulb.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor spaces, so we do not recommend it for bathrooms or covered outdoor areas where moisture is present. It suits kitchens, dining rooms and living spaces.

Can I group several over an island?

Yes. The narrow cylinder keeps each pendant compact, so a row of two or three works well over a longer island, counter or dining table without crowding the space.
