Description
The Caldera Large is a 580mm alabaster wall light built around a tall rectangular column of natural Spanish alabaster, mounted to a slim brushed brass backplate with a slender brass band running the full vertical length of the front face. An integrated 12W LED inside the column casts warm 3000K light through the stone, turning the alabaster itself into the diffuser and producing a soft, even glow across the entire face of the fitting.
At 580mm tall, 120mm wide and projecting 100mm from the wall, the Caldera suits hallways, stairwells, bedside positions and bathroom-adjacent corridors where vertical emphasis is wanted without a bulky fitting. The narrow projection keeps it close to the wall in tighter circulation spaces, while the height gives a generous wash of ambient light. Pairs are often fitted either side of a bedhead, a mirror or an entryway console.
The alabaster column is cut from a single block of Spanish stone, so the veining and tonal variation differ between individual pieces — no two Calderas light up identically. The backplate and band are solid copper finished in brushed brass, giving the fitting a substantial feel and a warm metallic line that contrasts cleanly against the soft white stone. The brushed finish on the brass softens reflections and pairs comfortably with both warm-toned interiors and cooler greys.

Frequently Asked
Does the alabaster vary between pieces?
Yes. Each column is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural material, not a defect, and is most visible once the LED is switched on.
Is the Caldera suitable for a bathroom?
No specific IP rating is listed for this fitting, so it should be treated as an indoor light for dry locations only. It suits hallways, stairwells, bedrooms, living rooms and corridors rather than bathroom zones 1 or 2. Please contact us before installation if you intend to use it in a bathroom-adjacent location.
What colour temperature does it produce?
The integrated LED runs at 3000K, which is a warm white. This sits between the very warm 2700K of traditional filament bulbs and the neutral 4000K used in task areas, and pairs well with the natural cream tone of the alabaster.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
