Description

The Bubble wall light pairs two opal glass globes with a slim LED reading light on one tall backplate, all in matt black. It stands 38cm tall and projects 10.5cm from the wall, so it sits neatly beside a bed or a chair without crowding the space. The two globes are 8cm across and give a soft, diffused glow over the wall. Below them, a narrow tube angles out from the backplate as a reading light. It has an integrated LED of 2.7W giving 250 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, so that part needs no bulb.

This is a bedside light first and foremost. The globes give a gentle background glow for winding down, while the 45° beam of the reading light puts a focused pool of light on a book or a newspaper. With a CRI of 90 or more, it shows print and colours clearly. It works just as well beside a reading chair in a living room or at a desk in a quiet study, and in a hallway it makes a calm, modern wall light. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The structure is iron, finished in matt black, and the diffusers are opal glass, which softens the light and keeps glare down. Inside the globes are two G9 lamp holders, and the fitting takes two G9 lamps in all, up to 60mm long. It runs on 220-240V mains, and it is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 3 year guarantee. For styling, we like a pair, one either side of the bed, against a plain or panelled wall in warm grey or stone, where the black backplate and white globes read clearly.
