Description

Our Bubbi shelf is a wall shelf with a wave running along both its top and bottom edges, so the outline reads like a row of soft scallops rather than a straight plank. Broad vertical stripes run the full height of the backboard and carry straight across the ledge, giving a multicoloured, deckchair look. It is made from MDF with a lacquered finish and measures 80cm long, 17cm wide and 22.5cm tall, at a weight of 3.65KG. That long, low shape makes it a display shelf for the small things you want to see every day.

At 80cm long it is a generous length for a single shelf, enough to line up a row of small vases, a few framed postcards or a stack of paperbacks laid flat above a desk, a chest of drawers or a bed. Because it hangs on the wall, it takes no floor space at all, which makes it useful in a hallway or on a landing where a bookcase would be in the way. The stripes and wavy edges give a plain wall in a living room, bedroom or study something cheerful to look at, and the multicoloured pattern is bold enough to carry the wall on its own or to sit beside framed prints.

The shelf is made from 100% MDF, and MDF is a dense, smooth board that takes paint and lacquer evenly; here the stripes have clean, crisp edges where one meets the next.
