The Brolbenne is a slim, rectangular outdoor wall light in a black finish, with an aluminium body 20cm long and 9cm high that sits just 3.5cm out from the wall. Its integrated LED runs along the top of a recessed, angled face and throws its light downwards, giving 520 lumens from 4.8W. There is no bulb to buy or replace, because the LED is built into the fitting. It is rated IP65, which means it is sealed against dust and protected from jets of water, so it can live outdoors on a house wall through every season.

Because the light is directed down and kept within the recess, it washes the wall and the ground beneath it rather than shining straight out into the garden. That makes it a good choice beside a front door, along a side path, next to garden steps or on a patio wall, wherever you want a clear view of the ground underfoot. Its slim profile keeps it tidy in a narrow passage, and the plain black box sits comfortably against render, brick or painted walls. The IP65 rating also means it can be considered for a bathroom, where a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone.

The body is aluminium in a black finish, and the light strip sits behind a plastic shade. The body fits over a separate back plate, held in place by small screws in its top and bottom edges. It is not dimmable and has no switch of its own, so it is switched at the wall, and it runs at 220-240V, 50/60Hz. Being a wired mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician. Packed, it weighs 0.62KG. With no bulb to change, it is worth choosing the right position before fitting; after that it simply lights the way whenever the wall switch is pressed.
