Description

The Brisbin is a 457mm-diameter pendant light built from three stacked concentric metal shades in burnished brass, each painted white on the interior to diffuse and reflect light as it passes through the layers. A single E27 bulb sits inside the lowest shade, casting light upwards and downwards through the tiered structure. The fixture hangs on a brass rod from a matching circular canopy.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, the Brisbin works as both a decorative centrepiece and a functional task light. The adjustable drop ranges from 397mm to 1617mm on installation, allowing the pendant to be set 700-800mm above a dining table or 900-1000mm above a kitchen island depending on ceiling height and the proportions of the space below.

The burnished brass finish shows a low-lustre warm gold tone with subtle surface texture, sitting between the high shine of polished brass and the flatness of satin brass. The layered shade structure borrows from mid-century Scandinavian lighting design — each tier steps down in diameter to create a rhythm of concentric circles when viewed from below. The white interior paint bounces light back through each layer, preventing harsh direct glare from the bulb and creating a graduated ambient wash.

The metal shades are spun steel rather than stamped aluminium, giving each tier a solid edge profile and keeping the overall weight balanced on the suspension rod. The Brisbin takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W, sold separately. Most users pair it with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient dining or kitchen island lighting. How is the drop adjusted?

What ceiling height is needed?

Can the brass be cleaned?
