Description

Brisalda holds three faceted stones of natural Spanish alabaster on a slim brushed brass rod, each one separated by a small turned brass ball and anchored at top and bottom by a rectangular brass wall plate. The stones are cut with flat angled faces rather than polished round, so the surface breaks the light into planes and each face reads at a slightly different brightness.

The body beneath the brushed brass finish is solid copper, which is what allows the rod to stay this slim while carrying three stones and the driver. At 480mm tall and 80mm wide it projects 120mm from the wall, narrow enough to flank a doorway or a mirror without crowding it and tall enough to hold a wall on its own. The integrated LED runs at 9W and 3000K, warming the stone from within so the piece reads as three separate points of light rather than a single wash. Mounted in pairs it frames a console or a bed; used singly it suits a hallway where the depth of the stone matters more than the spread of the light. It is rated IP20 for interior use.

Every stone is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, the density of the cloud and the exact warmth of the glow differ from one piece to the next and from one light to another. That variation is the material, not a flaw in it. Brisalda runs across wall lights, pendants and a chandelier, so the same faceted stone can be carried from a hallway through to a stairwell.

No. Each stone is cut from natural Spanish alabaster and the veining and translucency vary between pieces, so no two lights are identical.
