Description

Brisalda does not hang from a single point. It is built as three separate garlands of faceted natural Spanish alabaster beads, and each garland is suspended between its own pair of small brushed brass ceiling rosettes so that it falls in a catenary curve rather than a straight drop. Ninety beads are threaded along the three strands and spaced by dark metal collars, which keep each stone reading as its own shape instead of merging into a continuous rope.

Because the six mounting points are independent, the shape of the piece is set at installation. Move a pair of rosettes further apart and that swag pulls shallow and wide; bring them closer and the curve drops deeper. The overall drop is 2165mm and each bead measures 100mm across, so this is a fitting for a stairwell, a double height hall, or a large open living room with the ceiling height to let it fall properly. It works over a long dining table set beneath a high ceiling equally well.

Lighting is integrated LED across all three strands, drawing 65W, 86W and 115W for a combined 266W at 3000K. The metalwork is solid copper in a brushed brass finish and the beads are natural Spanish alabaster, so translucency and veining vary from stone to stone across all ninety. Unlit they read as pale cream against the ceiling; lit, they warm through and the veining shows as light passes behind the stone. The same faceted stone appears across the Brisalda wall lights and pendants.
