Description

Brio Clear S IP44 Plus is a round bathroom mirror 82cm across and 4cm deep, with a waterproof indirect light behind the glass and a heating mat behind that. The light washes the wall rather than shining outwards, so the mirror appears to float clear of the surface. The heating mat is the point of this version: it keeps the glass above the temperature at which steam settles, so the mirror stays usable while a shower is running rather than clearing several minutes afterwards.

It is rated IP44 and bathroom proof, and it is hard wired rather than plugged in, so the connection wants planning with the electrics rather than after them. It hangs in one direction. At 10kg it is a one person lift, fixed with two hooks and plugs, and nothing needs assembling. The indirect light doubles as ambient light for the room, which is worth knowing if the alternative is a ceiling fitting over a basin. The same mirror is made without the heating mat, and a decorative version is supplied with a cord for a direct connection instead. Seven years on the mirror, two on the light.

Clean the glass with cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth rather than onto the mirror, and keep liquid away from the lower edge where the wiring runs.
