Description
The Brillix is a 50cm outdoor LED bollard light with a die-cast metal body finished in brown, housing an integrated 3000K LED that casts warm white light downward and through side panels. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for pathways, driveways, patios and garden borders exposed to rain and garden irrigation.
Designed for installation along pathways, driveway edges and patio perimeters, the bollard stands 500mm tall and projects 123mm from its mounting base, giving enough height to light a 1-1.5m strip of ground on either side without glare at eye level when walking past. The angled head directs the majority of light downward to mark path edges and steps, with secondary light escaping through the side apertures to make the bollard itself visible at night. The brown powder-coated finish integrates with earth-toned paving, natural stone, rendered walls and timber decking.
The integrated LED runs at 3000K colour temperature, producing warm white light that sits between traditional incandescent (2700K) and neutral white (4000K). This colour temperature reduces the stark contrast often seen with cooler LEDs in gardens at night, giving a more natural appearance to foliage and paving. The die-cast metal construction gives the bollard a 1.2kg mass that resists movement once ground-fixed, and the IP54 rating means the internal components are sealed against the fine dust common in gravel or soil-adjacent installations.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP54 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP54 means the bollard is protected against dust ingress that would interfere with operation, and against water splashes from any direction. It will handle rain, garden sprinklers and hose washdown, but should not be submerged or installed where it would sit in standing water.
How is the bollard installed?
The Brillix mounts on a flat surface using the base plate visible in the specification. Typical installations involve fixing to a concrete pad, paving slab or decking with screws and weatherproof sealant. The mains cable enters through the base and must be buried in conduit before reaching the bollard.
Can the LED be replaced?
The LED is integrated into the bollard and is not user-replaceable. Ideal Lux rates integrated LEDs for 30,000+ hours of operation, which translates to approximately 10-15 years of typical evening use before noticeable degradation.
What spacing is recommended between bollards?
For continuous pathway lighting, space bollards 2-3m apart. For marking driveway edges or steps, spacing can be wider at 3-5m. The 50cm height and downward light distribution work best when the bollards are positioned to overlap their lit areas slightly rather than leaving dark gaps.
