Description

The Brillix is a 50cm outdoor LED bollard light with an integrated warm white 3000K LED housed inside a matt black metal column. The 138.5mm width and 123mm projection give the bollard a compact footprint suitable for pathway edges, driveway borders, and garden planting beds where space is limited. The IP54 rating protects the internal components from dust and water spray, making the fitting suitable for open-air UK installation.

Designed for low-level pathway and border lighting, the Brillix directs light downward and forward from the angled head at the top of the column, illuminating the ground immediately in front of and beside the bollard. This makes it useful for marking pathway edges in low-light conditions, defining a driveway entrance, or adding accent lighting to front garden borders. The 50cm height sits below typical planting heights, so the bollard can be positioned among shrubs and perennials without blocking sightlines.

The black powder-coated metal finish resists UV degradation and moisture ingress better than painted steel, maintaining colour consistency across seasons. The integrated LED cannot be replaced, so the bollard is treated as a single component with a design life matching the LED lifespan. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm white output comparable to traditional halogen pathway lights, avoiding the cooler blue-white tone of higher-temperature LEDs. The non-dimmable driver runs on 230V mains supply and requires external wiring from a junction box or switched circuit.

The base plate of the bollard fixes to a hard surface (concrete, paving slabs, decking) or can be set into soft ground using a ground spike accessory. The slimline profile allows multiple bollards to be spaced 1.5-2m apart along a pathway without creating visual clutter, while still providing continuous low-level lighting along the route. Can the LED be replaced?

No. The LED is integrated into the bollard and is not user-replaceable. The fitting is designed as a single sealed unit with a lifespan matching the LED component, typically 25,000-50,000 hours depending on usage.

What does IP54 mean for outdoor use?

IP54 means the bollard is protected from dust ingress and water spray from any direction. It is suitable for open-air installation in gardens, driveways and pathways, but should not be submerged or subjected to high-pressure water jets.

How is the bollard installed?

The base plate fixes to hard surfaces such as concrete or paving slabs using appropriate fixings. For installation in soil or grass, a ground spike accessory (sold separately) allows the bollard to be pushed into soft ground without a fixed base.

What spacing is recommended between bollards?
