Brady Stoneware Table Lamp - Green

This is a table lamp built like a small piece of sculpture: a column of four stoneware blocks, stacked one on another. Each is set with a round dome or hollow and turned so they face different ways around the base. The stoneware is green under a reactive glaze, and the glaze does what a reactive glaze does, pooling deeper in the hollows and thinning to a flecked, lighter finish over the edges. On top sits a straight-sided drum shade in linen. The whole lamp stands 68cm tall and 25cm across, so it holds its own on a large surface rather than disappearing among books and frames.

Put it where a room needs a warm pool of light and something to look at when it is off: a sideboard, a console in a living room, a side table beside the sofa or a wide bedside table. Linen softens and spreads light, so the glow through the shade is gentle rather than glaring. That suits evening reading and lamplight in place of the overhead light. The switch sits on the cord, so you can turn it on without reaching under the shade, and the 150cm cable gives you freedom in where the lamp sits relative to the socket.
