Description

The Boyd is a single-light swan neck wall light made in brass and glass. A slim brass arm rises from a rectangular wall plate, curves over in a tall swan neck and drops to a wide cone shade with a pierced gallery at its crown. Beneath the shade sits an acorn-shaped glass around the bulb. The light is 51cm tall and 27cm wide, and it projects 40cm from the wall, so the shade reaches well out into the room. We sell it in four finishes, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Polished Brass and Satin Brass, each with a choice of Clear or Opal glass. Clear glass leaves the bulb on view; Opal glass is a soft white that diffuses it.

This is a wall light for the living room, the dining room and the bedroom. Fitted either side of a fireplace or a sideboard, a pair frames the space and casts light down onto the surface beneath; in a bedroom, the long reach brings the shade out over a bedside table for reading. Antique Brass suits an older house or a room with dark painted walls, Polished Brass and Satin Brass give a brighter gold, and Antique Silver a cooler tone. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

Every Boyd is made to order for you in Ireland, from brass and glass. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase, and bulbs are not covered. It is a mains fitting, to be wired in by a qualified electrician. Bulbs are sold separately: it takes one E27 bulb of up to 40W, so choose one within that limit before it goes up.
