The Bog Oak wall light is a round ceramic disc, 28cm across, with fine stripes running out from its centre under a Matt White Striped glaze. A single E27 lampholder sits at the heart of the disc, so the bulb stands clear of the ceramic and its light falls across the raised lines, picking out every ridge. The fitting is made of brass and ceramic, and it stands 10cm out from the wall, so it sits close and neat. Bulbs are sold separately: it takes one E27 bulb, up to 40W per bulb, so you can choose the bulb that suits the room.

We like it in a bedroom, beside the bed or on the wall facing the door, and in a living room or dining room, where a matching pair either side of a sideboard or fireplace gives a soft glow at eye level. The matt glaze has no shine, and the striped surface gives a plain wall some texture even with the light switched off. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it is made for indoor use.
