Description

The Bog Oak ceramic ceiling light sits close to the ceiling, with a flat round ceramic disc set around a single lampholder for a bare bulb. The disc carries a Matt White Striped glaze, its surface lined with fine stripes that run from the centre out to the rim, so the texture picks up the light whenever the bulb is on. The ceiling fitting and lampholder are brass, and we offer them in a choice of finishes: Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Matt Black, Polished Brass, Polished Copper or Satin Brass, with the Matt Black painted in RAL 9005. The light is 10cm tall and 28cm across. It takes one E27 bulb of up to 40W, and bulbs are sold separately.

Because it sits close to the ceiling, the Bog Oak suits hallways, landings, bedrooms, studies and living rooms, and any room where a hanging pendant would feel too low. The white glaze stays quiet against a pale ceiling, while the finish sets the tone: Polished Brass or Polished Copper for warmth and shine, Antique Brass or Antique Silver for a softer, older look, Satin Brass for a gentler sheen, or Matt Black for crisp contrast. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only. In a longer hallway, two or three in a row give an even line of light.

Each light is made to order for you in Ireland, the ceramic disc glazed in Matt White Striped and the brass parts finished in the finish you choose. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered. As a mains fitting, it is for a qualified electrician to install, wired in to the mains.
