Description

The Blux T40 is a table lamp from our Blux System range, with a dome shade held out on a jointed tubular arm above a round base. It comes in black, red, beige, brass or copper, so you can pick a quiet colour that sits back into a room or a metallic finish that catches the eye. The dome shade is 17cm across and the head is 18cm long, carried on an upper stem 40cm tall and a lower stem 20cm tall, while the base is 22cm across and takes up little room on a desk or side table. It holds one E27 bulb of up to 10W and runs on mains power.

We think it suits a bedroom or a living room best. On a bedside table the dome shade keeps the light directed down onto a book, and on a side table beside a sofa or armchair it gives a focused pool of light for reading while the rest of the room stays soft. The jointed arm gives it the look of a classic desk lamp, so it sits just as happily on a writing desk in the corner of a living room. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry rooms only.

It is a Class II fitting, which means it is double insulated. It is not dimmable, so choose a bulb with the brightness you want from the start. The E27 bulb is sold separately and is not in the box; it is what gives the lamp its light, and at 10W or less an LED bulb is the natural choice. A warm white LED suits a bedside or reading corner, and a cooler white suits a desk where you work.
