Description

The Bloom is a single-globe ceiling light that mounts a round glass shade close under the ceiling on a slim brass cap. The globe is built in two layers: a ribbed, amber-tinted outer that catches the light warmly and a white acid-etched inner that turns the E27 lamp into a soft, even ball rather than a bright point. Lit, the shade glows warm at the top and pours a diffused pool downward through the open underside; unlit, it hangs as a quiet textured sphere against the ceiling.

This is the 220mm size in brass, sitting only 215mm below the ceiling, so it reads as a semi-flush globe for a room without the drop of a hanging pendant. The brass cap adds a warm metal edge above the glass, and the compact height suits a hallway, a landing, a bedroom or a bathroom lobby where a pendant would hang too low. One globe gives a broad, contained wash of light that lights the space evenly rather than aiming a beam.

The cap and frame are powder-painted or plated metal in brass, and the shade is blown glass with the ribbed amber outer over the white etched inner. It takes a single E27 screw-cap bulb up to 42W, which is not included, so we would fit an E27 lamp to suit; the standard cap means a wide choice of LED bulbs and colour temperatures, and you set the brightness and tone. It carries an IP20 rating for indoor use.
