Description

The Bloom is an upright floor lamp that carries a single rounded blown-glass shade at the top of a fine metal stem. The glass is acid-etched, so the built-in LED reads as a soft, all-round glow rather than a bright point, laying down a gentle pool of warm light beside a chair. Lit, the shade warms through like a bud on a stalk; off, it sits as a quiet amber globe above a slim brass line.

This is the brass version, with the stem in brushed brass and a clear amber striped outer glass over a white etched inner, so the pool of light carries a warmer honey tone than the grey model. It stands 1695mm tall on a 300mm shade, a reading-height floor lamp for the side of a sofa, an armchair or a bedroom corner where soft, low light is wanted rather than an overhead wash.

The LED is built in and rated to 30,000 hours, giving 1400 lumens of warm 3000K output at 11W, so there is no bulb to fit. We supply it ready to run on a mains lead, so it plugs into a wall socket and lights straight away.

What kind of light does the Bloom give?

A soft, all-round glow with a warm honey cast from the amber glass. The acid-etched blown shade spreads the built-in LED into an even 1400-lumen wash at 3000K rather than a hard point, so it works as gentle light beside a chair or sofa.

Does it need a bulb?

No. The LED is integrated and rated to 30,000 hours, so there is nothing to fit and nothing to change over its life. It draws 11 watts and arrives ready to run.

Is it dimmable?

The lamp has no built-in dimmer and the LED is fixed, so dimming would need a compatible external plug-in dimmer on the mains lead. We can advise on a suitable one.

How big is it and where does it suit?

It stands 1695mm tall with a 300mm glass shade, a reading height that suits the side of a sofa, an armchair or a bedroom corner where a low, warm glow is wanted beside the seat.
