Description

The BIMU SV100 is a linear LED pendant light that hangs upright rather than across: a slim bar of light 100cm long and just 2cm across, held on a fine cable that runs from a ceiling box down to a floor anchor. The LED is integrated, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and it gives 1679 lumens from 15W in a warm white of 2700K. With a CRI of 90, colours under it look true, from wood and fabric to the paint on a wall. It comes in Black, Black & Orange or White, so you can choose a finish that disappears against a pale wall or one that draws a clean dark line through the room.

Because it hangs as a vertical line, the BIMU SV100 suits places a wide shade would crowd: the corner of a living room, the gap beside a sofa or bookcase, or the end of a dining room where a low pendant would get in the way. Its maximum height is 350cm, so measure your ceiling before you choose a spot. It is not dimmable, so it runs at one steady level from a standard switch; pair it with a table lamp where you want softer evening light. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

There is an end piece 12.3cm long at each end of the bar. The ceiling box is 7.7cm across and 13.4cm tall, and the floor anchor is 2.5cm across and 10.2cm tall, small enough to sit quietly at the foot of a wall. It runs on 230V mains and is wired in by an electrician, and as a Class I fitting it needs an earthed supply. The design is by Carrasquet.
