Description

The Beso is a 179mm mini pendant spun from steel into a teardrop profile with a brushed finish and a white-painted interior. A single E27 lampholder sits inside the bulbous shade, and the white interior coating reflects and diffuses light downward through the 179mm aperture at the base. The pendant hangs from a black fabric cord with a maximum drop of 4.8m, adjustable on installation.

Designed for kitchen islands, breakfast bars, and dining nooks, the Beso works as a single pendant over a 600-900mm worktop or in multiples spaced 400-600mm apart over longer surfaces. The 179mm diameter keeps the pendant compact enough for tighter ceiling-to-worktop clearances while still casting usable task light downward. The brushed steel finish resists fingerprints and pairs cleanly with stainless-steel appliances, chrome taps and handles, and grey-toned stone or quartz worktops.

The spun steel construction gives the pendant a 1970s profile without the weight of solid brass or copper equivalents, and the white interior maximises light output from the single E27 bulb (sold separately). The 4.5m cord length allows for high-ceiling installations in double-height kitchen-diners or mezzanine spaces, with the excess cord concealed in the ceiling rose during fitting. The pendant accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 60W, giving flexibility to choose the colour temperature and brightness that suits the room.

What bulb does the Beso take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for task lighting over kitchen worktops or dining tables.

Can the drop be adjusted after installation?

The drop is adjustable on installation only, not after fitting. The 4.5m black cord can be shortened during installation to suit ceiling heights between 2.4m and 5m, with excess cord concealed in the ceiling rose.

How many pendants are needed for a kitchen island?

For a typical 1.5-2m kitchen island, two Beso pendants spaced 500-600mm apart provide even task light coverage. For longer islands (2.5m+), three pendants spaced at similar intervals work better than two widely-spaced fittings.

Is the brushed steel finish suitable for humid environments?

The Beso carries no IP rating and is designed for dry interior use. It can be installed in kitchens where cooking generates steam, but should not be installed in bathrooms or directly above cooker hobs where condensation or grease exposure is constant.
