Beso 1 Light Medium Pendant - Dark Bronze

The Beso is a single-pendant light combining a dark bronze spun steel shade with a copper-finished neck and a matt black ceiling rose. The shade measures 254mm diameter and 266mm height, with a bulbous lower section that tapers to a narrow opening at the top where it meets the copper accent. The interior of the shade is painted white to reflect light downwards through the open base.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and bar areas, the Beso suits ceiling heights between 2.4m and 5m. The pendant ships with 4.5m of black fabric-covered cable, adjustable on installation to set the fitting 300mm to 4.8m below the ceiling rose. At typical kitchen island or dining table installations the pendant sits 700-900mm above the worktop or table surface, requiring a ceiling height of at least 2.4m. The E27 socket accepts standard screw-base bulbs up to 60W (sold separately).

The spun steel construction gives the shade a smooth, uniform surface finish without visible seams or welds. The dark bronze tone is a warm, near-black metallic finish that pairs with both industrial and mid-century modern interiors, while the copper accent at the neck adds a contrasting warm metallic detail. The white interior paint increases downward light output and reduces the amount of light lost into the shade cavity, making the fitting more efficient for task lighting than shades with dark interiors.

What bulb does it take?

The Beso takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W at 2700K-3000K for ambient dining or task lighting over a kitchen island.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The cable length is set on installation and is not easily adjustable once the ceiling rose is wired and the excess cable is coiled inside the rose. If you need to change the drop height later, the ceiling rose must be removed and the cable re-set.

What ceiling height is needed?

For a kitchen island or dining table, the pendant typically sits 700-900mm above the surface, which requires a ceiling height of at least 2.4m. The 4.5m cable allows installation in rooms with ceilings up to 5m if the pendant is being hung over a floor surface rather than a table.

Is the copper accent lacquered or will it patina?

The copper-finished neck is typically lacquered to maintain the polished copper appearance and prevent tarnishing. It will not develop a patina unless the lacquer is removed.
