Beso 1 Light Medium Pendant - Brushed Steel

The Beso is a 254mm diameter spun steel pendant with a brushed steel finish on the exterior and a white-painted interior. The teardrop-shaped shade houses a single E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately) and the white inner surface reflects light downward through the 160mm base aperture, directing the majority of output below the fitting for task or dining illumination.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and bar counters where a single pendant provides focused light over a specific surface, the Beso hangs on 4572mm of black fabric cord that can be shortened on installation to any drop between 303mm and 4875mm. The long cord length accommodates high residential ceilings, mezzanine installations and commercial hospitality settings where the fitting needs to descend several metres from the ceiling rose. The cord conceals the cable run and terminates in a shallow brushed steel ceiling canopy that sits flush to the ceiling.

The spun steel construction gives the shade a smooth, continuous profile without visible seams or joints, and the brushed finish softens reflections compared to a polished metal surface. At 266mm tall and 254mm wide the Beso occupies moderate visual volume — large enough to hold presence over a 900mm-wide dining table or 600mm-deep kitchen island without dominating smaller rooms. What bulb does the Beso take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for dining or kitchen island use.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The drop is adjustable on installation only. The 4572mm cord can be shortened to any length between 303mm and 4875mm by cutting and re-terminating during fitting, but once installed the height is fixed unless the fitting is taken down and re-fitted.

What ceiling height does it need?

The 303mm minimum drop suits standard 2.4m ceilings when the pendant is hung low over a table or island. Higher ceilings benefit from a longer drop — typically 600-900mm above a dining table surface or 700-800mm above a kitchen island worktop.

Is the Beso suitable for low ceilings?

Yes, if the cord is shortened to the 303mm minimum drop. This brings the total floor-to-canopy height to approximately 570mm, which works in rooms with 2.4m ceilings when the pendant is positioned over furniture rather than in circulation areas.
