Description

This sunflower stepping stone brings a cheerful burst of yellow to the garden, with the words 'Bee happy' raised across its centre. Rows of pointed yellow petals deepen to a warm orange towards the middle, framing a round brown centre with a textured rim like a seed head. Three little bees sit around the lettering, with striped yellow and black bodies and pale blue wings, and the cream script stands out clearly against the brown. It is made from resin, also called polystone, and measures 25cm across and 2.5cm deep, a handy size to place wherever you want a spot of colour.

As a stepping stone it is made to sit flat on the ground, so it settles neatly into a lawn, along the edge of a border or beside a path, where it catches the eye as you walk past. At 25cm across it is easy to read from a few steps away without crowding a small bed, and the round sunflower design looks at home among real flowers, herbs or pots on a patio. The bright yellow and brown suit the area around a summer house or a quiet corner by the back door, and the bees make it a natural fit for a garden planted with pollinators in mind.

The petals, bees and lettering are all raised from the surface, so the design has real depth and picks up the light as the sun moves round, while the slim 2.5cm depth keeps it low to the ground. To keep it looking bright, brush away soil and fallen leaves and wipe it over with a damp cloth whenever it needs a freshen up. For a tidy finish, set it slightly into the turf so the edge sits level with the grass, and mow carefully around it. Placed beside a pot of lavender or a bed of real sunflowers, it makes a cheerful little welcome.

Frequently Asked

How big is the sunflower stepping stone?

It measures 25cm across and 2.5cm deep. That round size fits neatly into a lawn, along a border edge or beside a garden path.

What is the stepping stone made of?

It is made from resin, also known as polystone, which holds the fine raised detail of the petals, the bees and the lettering.

What colours is it?

It is mainly yellow with a brown centre. The petals shade to orange towards the middle, the bees have yellow and black bodies with pale blue wings, and the lettering is cream.

What does the lettering on it say?

It reads 'Bee happy' in raised script across the round brown centre, with three small bees placed around the words.

Where in the garden can I put it?

It sits flat on the ground, so it suits a lawn, the edge of a border, the side of a path or a patio among pots and planting.

How do I keep it clean?

Brush away any soil and fallen leaves, then wipe it over with a damp cloth. That is good general practice for resin pieces kept in the garden.
