Description
The Beacon EVCS Master Station 2 Line is a wall-mounted control panel for emergency voice communication systems in buildings, providing full duplex audio communication between a central monitoring position and up to two lines of outstations. The unit integrates Type A and Type B outstations plus assist call points, allowing staff to respond to emergency calls from disabled refuge areas, bathrooms and other designated points across a building.
Designed for commercial, healthcare, education and public building installations where BS5839-9:2021 compliance is required, the master station measures 400mm wide by 350mm high by 150mm deep and surface-mounts onto a wall behind reception desks, control rooms or security stations. The large handset provides clear two-way audio without hands-free speaker interference, and the front panel displays incoming calls from individual outstations with numbered indicators corresponding to building zones.
The system supports backup battery operation via an optional BAT7 battery pack (sold separately), maintaining communication during mains power failure as required by BS5839-9. The master station weighs 4.2kg and the metal enclosure accepts standard CAT5 or CAT6 cabling to outstations, with terminations accessed behind a removable front panel. The unit is also compliant with BS8300 accessibility standards, ensuring the interface can be operated by staff with varying physical capabilities.

Frequently Asked
What's the difference between Type A and Type B outstations?
Type A outstations are typically installed in disabled refuge areas and provide two-way voice communication with visual confirmation. Type B outstations are simpler call points, often used in accessible toilets, with push-button activation but no handset. This master station integrates both types on the same system.
Does it require a backup battery?
BS5839-9:2021 requires emergency voice communication systems to maintain operation during mains failure. The Beacon master station supports the optional BAT7 backup battery pack (sold separately), which provides standby power to keep the system operational during outages.
How many outstations can be connected?
This 2-line master station supports two separate lines of outstations. The exact number of outstations per line depends on cable run length and the specific outstation models used — consult the full manual (linked in Downloads) or contact ESP for system design guidance.
What cable is needed to connect outstations?
Standard CAT5 or CAT6 network cable is typically used to connect the master station to outstations. Cable runs, terminations and system wiring are detailed in the product manual.
