Description

A shallow drum for rooms where headroom is tight: a 40cm faux silk shade in raw cocoa, lined in grecian bronze, carried on a polished chrome frame. A frosted acrylic diffuser with a polished chrome rim finishes the underside, so light leaves the fitting soft rather than sharp. Three E27 lampholders sit inside, giving a broad, even spread instead of a single bright point. Shade and frame come as a complete fitting, so there is nothing to pair up.

It suits hallways, landings and bedrooms, and it holds its own in a sitting room or dining space where a hanging shade would sit in the way. We reach for this one over a landing, where a long drop tends to get knocked. It will dim with compatible lamps and a separate dimmer, which helps in a bedroom when you want the level down late on. The cocoa and bronze tones sit well with cream, oatmeal or deeper green walls, while the chrome keeps a lift against a darker scheme.

The shade is faux silk with a contrast lining, so the inner face carries warmth once the lamps are lit, and the acrylic diffuser keeps the fitting light for its size. Metalwork is polished chrome throughout, including the rim that frames the diffuser. For care, take a soft clothes brush to the fabric now and then, and wipe the diffuser with a barely damp cloth, dried at once. It carries a one year warranty.
