Description

Three drum shades in raw cocoa faux silk hang in a row from a slim antique brass bar, each lined in Grecian bronze so the light picks up a warm metallic glow on its way down. The shades measure 30cm across, wide enough to read as a proper set rather than a scatter of small hats, and the suspension can be shortened or let out to suit the height of the room. The bar itself runs close to 1.2m, enough to span a good length of table without crowding it.

We would hang this over a long dining table or a kitchen island, where the linear layout does the work of separate pendants without the fuss of several drops. It also suits the centre of a wide hallway or a long run of worktop. Each E27 socket takes a GLS lamp, and an LED is what we would fit; with dimmable lamps and a suitable dimmer, the light comes down to something soft enough for the end of a meal.

The bar and ceiling plate are finished in antique brass, a softened warm tone rather than a bright polish, and the shades are faux silk with a contrasting lining. Switch off at the wall before you go near it; the metalwork takes a dry cloth, and the faux silk is happier with a soft brush than with anything damp. Keep it indoors, well away from steam and splashes. It carries a one year warranty. The same raw cocoa and Grecian bronze shading runs through the range as a white flush fitting, and we stock the Baymont flush fittings in polished chrome as well. Lamps are not included.

Is it dimmable?
